PP Scrap

We buy polypropylene scrap UK-wide: rigid PP (tubs, buckets, crates), woven PP jumbo/FIBC bags — baled, cut or whole — carpet backing and battery-case regrind.

RigidsJumbo bagsB3011

Polypropylene is the broadest scrap family we handle, and each stream has its own buyer in Türkiye: rigids feed injection compounds, woven big-bags feed raffia and recycled FIBC production, carpet backing goes to compounders, and battery-case regrind — from licensed battery recyclers only — feeds automotive compounds. Because streams differ, we buy against per-stream acceptance specs and quote from photographs. All exports move as sorted single-polymer B3011 material with the full Annex VII trail.

Compliance & documentation

Waste / product classification
Green-list waste under B3011 as sorted single-polymer PP. Battery-case regrind additionally requires documented origin from a licensed battery recycler with acid-neutralisation confirmation.
Certification chain
EA registered waste carrier/broker/dealer (upper tier); consignee licence and quota verified before contract.
Documentation supplied
  • Annex VII form signed by all parties, retained 3 years
  • Contract with the licensed Turkish consignee
  • Waste transfer note at UK collection
  • Photographic loading report per container
Türkiye import notes
Sorted PP streams are accepted; mixed rigid loads are not. Battery-case material needs the origin file complete before shipment.

Applications & end markets

End markets by stream:

  • Rigids → injection compounds: crates, furniture, automotive
  • Woven FIBC → raffia tape and recycled big-bag production
  • Carpet backing → filled PP compounds
  • Battery case → automotive-grade black compounds

Frequently asked questions

Do you take jumbo bags whole, cut or baled?
All three, priced differently. Baled is standard and loads best; cut bags pack denser and save freight; whole bags are accepted where you lack a baler, at a handling discount. Liners must be out or declared — a hidden PE liner is the most common downgrade in this stream. Used one-trip bags in good condition may be worth more for reuse; tell us and we will grade accordingly.
What counts as 'rigid PP' and what ruins a rigid load?
Tubs, buckets, crates, garden furniture, pipe offcuts — injection or blow-moulded PP. The killers are mixed-polymer loads (HDPE items look similar — check the resin code), heavily filled items like some automotive parts unless declared, and metal inserts. Our acceptance spec lists tolerances; a photo of the pile is usually enough for us to grade accurately.
Why the special conditions on battery cases?
Battery-case PP is valuable but must come from a licensed battery recycler with the acid drained and neutralised, and the origin documented. That file protects everyone: the exporter, the consignee's licence, and your company's name on the Annex VII. Without it we do not ship — and neither should anyone else.
Carpet backing — woven or needlefelt?
We buy woven PP secondary backing offcuts and post-industrial rolls, dry and free of latex-heavy trim where possible. Needlefelt and latex-saturated material is a different, lower stream — declare it as such and we will quote what it is worth rather than reject it on arrival.
